Head of Data Analytics

We are searching for an experienced analytics professional to join our highly successful software company in Bath to develop and lead the creation of our new analytics solution which will deliver engaging stories and discover unique insights for TV broadcasters and OTTs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior analytics professional to work in the exciting TV and media sector to develop a state-of-the-art analytics solution for TV broadcasters and OTTs, whilst establishing a leading analytics team within the organisation.

The Filter works with TV broadcasters supplying personalisation software and data science personalisation services. Working collaboratively with our clients relies upon:

  • providing access to performance data
  • precisely proving how personalisation supports delivery of quantitative KPIs
  • providing real-time dashboards to optimise outcomes
  • uncovering insights about user behaviour and content consumption to help develop targeting strategies
  • developing sophisticated audience segmentation solutions for more precise targeting both on and off platform
  • creating compelling stories that excite and inspire our clients

As we continue our journey in becoming a market leader in the delivery of personalisation services, we’re looking for someone with the passion and vision to lead our analytics team into a new era, building upon our existing capabilities whilst developing a new product suite that will be the envy of the sector.

You’ll spend time working with clients, advising broadcasters on how to analyse the outcomes achieved by personalisation and optimisation services which engage and serve their viewers, whilst increasing revenues and reducing customer churn. You’ll be managing an analytics team to create our new solution and developing their skill set to create a market-leading analytics function. You will be working in a hybrid setting from our Bath office and remotely with our cross-functional team, devising and designing appropriate analysis methods to assess our personalisation solutions for the TV industry.

You are:

  • A senior analyst that is an expert in the field of analytics and data visualisation
  • Keen to change the way broadcasters view, think about and act upon data via analysis, visualisation and story telling
  • Someone with the vision and creative thinking to lead and develop our analytics solution
  • Confident in communicating with both external and internal stakeholders and can inspire and motivate others
  • Wanting to work for an ambitious, high-growth company that values great ideas and the capability to implement them

You will have:

  • Experience in querying data and creating visual representations of results
  • An eye for applying analytical thinking and drawing conclusions from data
  • Experience in writing performant SQL, database design and structure
  • Knowledge of Python or R
  • Worked with visualisation tools such as Tableau, PowerBI or similar products
  • Experience in developing audience segmentation models and solutions
  • A track record of building, managing and developing analytics teams

Your typical day:

  • Working with the Data Analytics and Data Science teams to devise and implement analytics solutions that link product performance to the client’s business KPIs
  • Oversee the product development of client dashboards and ad hoc analysis for our clients TV platform performance
  • Devising A/B tests to develop a client’s keener understanding of how to optimise performance of personalisation
  • Working with the Data Science team and Commercial Team to input into our features roadmap, help build our client relationships and develop our SaaS services
  • Leading the development of our analytics products and solutions
