Joyn, one of Germany’s leading OTT players, and The Filter, a UK based, tailored personalisation provider, have today announced that they have signed a deal to provide data science-based personalisation services across the Joyn platform. Joyn has a strong vision for their customer experience and personalisation is a key element to this. The Filter offers a flexible and tailored managed service approach to personalisation provision which has given Joyn the ability to deliver on this vision in an impactful, quick, and cost-effective manner. The early results for conversion for a range of personalisation solutions have been very encouraging. They have also launched a mood based, content selector, the ‘Watch Assistant’ which has proved popular with customers, especially new-to-platform, who want to explore the vast range of quality content Joyn offers.
The Watch Assistant required significant enhancement to Joyn’s content metadata for which The Filter’s data science metadata prediction models were crucial in providing variable coverage across the entire content catalogue. The Filter’s API cloud solution proved its worth through a quick, robust, and scalable integration. Both parties have further ambitions for personalisation on the platform over the coming months and years and The Filter’s managed service approach will play a fundamental role in solution co-development and continual optimisation.
